UPDATE: ESPN is reporting that the Rams will select Chris Long with the #2 overall pick.
A source has revealed that the Patriots will make a blockbuster Draft Day trade, sending the 7th overall pick and Richard Seymour to the Falcons for the 3rd overall pick in the draft. They would use that pick to draft the highly-touted Chris Long, son of Hall of Famer Howie Long. Long, a 6'4", 284-pound defensive end out of Virginia had 14 sacks last year and runs a 4.75 second 40-yard dash.
His 14 sacks were 3rd in the country, and he ranked 4th nationally in tackling by a lineman, averaging 6.3 per game. He tied for 10th in the nation in tackles for loss and tied for 5th in the country among defensive linemen in passes defended. He was selected as a First Team All-American and won the Ted Hendricks Defensive End of the Year Award, garnering over 60% of the votes, the most ever in the history of the award.
Long is a consensus top-3 pick no matter where you look.
