TMZ.com started the Super Bowl hype by posting a video of Tom Brady in New York wearing a walking boot. Brady was asked about the boot on WEEI this morning, to which he replied: "Ah, you know, there's always bumps and bruises. I'll be ready for the Super Bowl. I'm not worried about that. I'm not missing this one. I'd have to be on a stretcher to miss this one. There will be treatment this week. In games like this, you get a little nicked up. It's nothing serious."
To further Brady's claim that it's not serious, AP sports writer Howard Ulman is reporting that "Hours after being photographed with a walking boot on his right foot as he followed girlfriend Gisele Bundchen into her New York apartment on Monday, other pictures showed the New England Patriots quarterback wearing black shoes — and no boot — when he showed up at a New York hotspot."
The chief of the foot and ankle division at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Dr. Chris Chiodo, said Brady doesn't appear to be seriously injured and that he has used a boot to treat several ailments, including a sprain, a strain, a bone bruise, tendinitis or overuse of the foot. He said he strongly doubted Brady had a displaced fracture.
"I don't think he'd be walking on it if that were the case," Chiodo told The Associated Press in a telephone interview.
UPDATE: It is being reported that Brady's injury is a high ankle sprain. Hopefully, it's not serious.

I have to admit that when I saw the pics and video of Tom in the walking cast, I got nervous. If you watch the game again, you'll notice there are times when Tom threw off one foot. He got hurt early in the game deep in Pats territory closest to my endzone (North). The bunch of us saw him limp around slightly after an early pressure.
He has a mild high ankle sprain according to the AP News as of 11:30pm Tuesday. He'll take it easy this week, get treatment for two weeks, and he'll be ready to go.

Watching the game on NFL replay last night, I saw exactly what you were talking about. There was a play in the first half when Brady was taken down and it looked like his right ankle was twisted a bit. He seemed really angry after that (a little more than the usual "I just got sacked" look), and had a bit of a limp. It didn't look like much, and he did finish that game. I'm not too worried, either.
I'm sure they're going to play this up as much as possible. No way Brady isn't going to play. Just trying to keep the media distracted and send them on a wild goose chase. It seems to be working.
