Patriots fans everywhere can breathe a sigh of relief. San Diego Chargers DE Igor Olshansky decided to open his mouth about playing the Patriots in the AFC Championship. "Who? New England?" asked Olshansky. "Seriously, I mean, they're more worried than we are – I promise you. Believe me. They know what's up."
What the #!@$ was this guy thinking? It's hard enough to come into New England and beat an undefeated team (who, by the way, manhandled the Chargers earlier this year), why put your teammates through hell? Everyone in the United States knows that there is one rule for playing the Patriots: Don't talk trash. They will eat you. LT learned his lesson. So did Anthony Smith. And so did countless others in seasons past. You just don't do it.
As a fan, I was slightly worried about the Chargers. Now, I just pity them.

Oddly, Olshanksy might be right:
"'If fear is ever good, [Belichick] put fear in us by what they’ve accomplished and what they’ve done consistently for the last two months,' Evans said."
Belichick should teach a sports psychology course.
Matt, how do you think the Pats receivers match up with Cromartie?
Cromartie is a damn good player. He's most likely one of the top 5 athletes in the NFL – and he's got great hands. Unfortunately, he won't be able to make a huge difference on his own. If the San Diego corners play well enough to give Cromartie a few chances, I'm sure he'll take advantage. I just don't see them being able to stop all of our guys at once. And if they don't stop 'em all, Brady will have a field day.
believe me buddy….don't pitty the chargers. you will see, on sunday, what an amazing team they really are….sure they started off shakey but they have turned it up and are ready for the pats. i am not going to say that the pats aren't the best team in the nfl, but they are definitely overrated. yes, they are undefeated and i do respect that football team but it hasn't been so easy for them. they didn't roll over every team without a problem. get ready for the game on sunday….its time to put an end to an undefeated record.
GOOOOOOOOOO CHARGERS!!!!!!! PATS ARE GOING DOWN
The poor charger fans will be so dissapointed… they will get squished by the PATRIOTS… no doubt. bet you the chargers won't even get more than 2 TD's IF THAT and the pats will break 30pnts easy.
There's no denying that the Chargers are a great team. Possibly the second best team in the AFC – I mean, they sure know how to handle Peyton Manning. But there are a few reasons I don't think they stand a chance:
1. The QB. We have Tom Brady, the coolest, most composed guy no the field. You have Philip Rivers, a hot-head who can't even put himself above screaming at fans.
2. The weather. San Diego is pretty standard at 50°F – 66°F this time of year. This game is expected to be played in weather ranging from 7°F – 21°F . Dress warm, fellas.
3. The Chargers may have handled Peyton really well, but Peyton Manning is no Tom Brady.
4. Bill Belichick will never let his team lose. Not at this point.
5. Tom Brady.
6. Wes Welker.
7. Randy Moss.
8. Oh, and Tom Brady.
chargers are still the best team in the league. if LT was in and Rivers was 100% the game would have had a different ending….and at least the chargers are an honest team…not like the spying belichick….any coach who does that should not be in the NFL
OK, 3 things:
1. The Chargers are not the best team in the league. They actually lost at least one game. The Pats didn't. And the Pats beat the Chargers two times this season. The Chargers are really good, but the Pats are better. Get over it.
2. I hate those "if this happened…" comments. You can't sit there and say that if your team didn't have injuries they'd be better. You know, the Pats have some serious injuries, too. And nobody was complaining that "if we had Colvin, or Morris, then these games wouldn't even be close." Every team in the NFL has injuries – the GREAT NFL teams can withstand them. Look at the '03 Pats for a perfect example.
3. Get over the videotaping incident. We broke a rule (much like Pass Interference), got a steep penalty, and we moved on. Case closed. I guarantee you that most tenured coaches in the NFL have done something similar over the course of their careers. You're ignorant if you see it otherwise.
