Angela over at BostonBrat.net has a great post describing why 'it really sucks to be a Patriots fan' after the spying thing. I share most of her feelings:
I’m pissed because something that gives such a minor advantage is going to taint everything I have cheered and celebrated for the last 13 years.
I’m pissed because I can’t even enjoy the great game they had last Sunday.
I’m pissed because now Colts fans can have the last laugh, and why wouldn’t they? If things were reversed, I’d be doing the same.

You should be pissed because now that the Patriots have been found out to be cheaters, the Dallas Cowboys can hold on to the title of the last Dynasty.
The Cowboys have always held on to the title of America's Team.
To think about how long this has been going on: The NFL was on hand in week 1 to catch them cheating. This means they discovered it in the previous years but needed evidence. The NFL knew they would be cheating but had to wait until weak 1.
There is no telling how long they have been cheating. My guess is back as long as they have had success. The thing that makes me laugh is the games that they lost when they knew every one of the opposing teams plays.
How do you lose when you know the other teams plays?
First of all, if your team doesn't know their opponent's plays, you're in deep trouble. Teams spend all week preparing and watching countless hours of tape to figure out what the other team is going to call. So even your beloved Cowboys lose when they know the other teams plays.
Second, the reason the NFL found out about the camera is the Green Bay Packers complained about it last year. That's it.
And this won't tarnish our Super Bowls just like the Broncos' cap shenanigans didn't tarnish theirs.
Max penalty for this: a couple draft picks, and listening to ignorant fans like you.
you're just a biased pats fan if it had been another team you would be all over it,your guilty!and if other teams are doing it i guess belijerk was the stupid one to get caught and the one with the most to lose from it.what a dumb move after all those super bowls.
last year in the afc champ game the colts did not allow any cameras on the field that go's to show they suspected something was going on and look at the outcome of that game.i'm curious to see what dungy is going to say.i read an article in which he said he'd wait for the nfl to make a decision and then they can ask all the questions because he's going to have a lot to say.i don't think manning is a choker anymore not because he won last year but because they had an advantage on his team.
nando, I agree that it was a dumb move for Belichick to do this and possibly put an asterisk next to his legacy. But I am completely against you saying that I would be all over it if another team did this. Have you read any other posts on the blog? I specifically called out the Dolphins last year for having a great idea for doing something similar AGAINST the Pats.
Another reason I wouldn't be all over it if it happened to another team: I don't see this as a big deal at all. The advantage gained is only marginal.
matt:marginal is just enough to be one step ahead of the other team.i compare this to a hitter knowing what a pitcher is going to throw, what's the point?
That's a decent comparison, except that it didn't mean the Pats knew what plays the Jets were going to call. It meant that the Pats could look back and figure out what the Jets had already called WITH LESS DIFFICULTY than without the tape.
matt:i would be very dissapointed if i were you to follow you your team week in and week out and have this hanging over your teams head from now on is just frustrating.
Yeah man, I totally agree. But, what else can we do but to move on? I'm used to hearing people hating the Pats, but now they have a factual reason to hate them. This whole thing makes us look scummy, especially since we just had an HGH issue. It sucks.
I'm definitely disappointed in my team, but that doesn't mean I don't think they're going to win the Super Bowl.
Thanks for the discussion, nando.
